Michael Borrelli's path to criminal defense began long before he opened his own firm. After graduating cum laude from St. John's University School of Law in 1995, he joined the Westchester County District Attorney's office, where he would spend nearly three decades mastering every facet of New York criminal law from the inside out.
During his time as a prosecutor, Michael served in the Superior Court Trial Division, where he tried more than 40 jury trials involving charges ranging from murder and attempted murder to first-degree robbery and burglary. He also served as Supervisor for three separate branches of the District Attorney's office—New Rochelle, Northern Westchester, and Yorktown—where he managed thousands of active criminal cases annually, advised more than 20 police agencies, and trained Assistant District Attorneys in suppression hearings, grand jury proceedings, and felony and misdemeanor prosecution.
From 2007 to 2019, Michael served as the DWI Coordinator of the Westchester County District Attorney's Office, a role in which he educated the DA's staff and Westchester police agencies on all areas of DWI law and procedure. His 12 years in that position, combined with personal involvement in hundreds of DWI suppression hearings, jury trials, and non-jury trials, established him as one of the foremost DWI specialists in the county.
A lifelong Westchester resident, Michael has worked with every police agency and court in the county over the course of his career.
